Pokemon Go – How To Beat and Catch Tornadus Raid Guide (Counter and Weaknesses)
Tornadus, a Cyclone Pokemon, debuted in Pokémon GO in 5-Star raids last February 25. He is currently ranked sixth among the best flying type Pokémon in the game. Along with Thundurus and Landorus, the creature is a member of the Forces of Nature.
Counters and Weaknesses
Tornadus isn’t a legend that’s particularly difficult to take down in raids. To defeat him, as with his predecessor, Heatran, four to six high-level trainers with super effective Pokémon against flying are required. Otherwise, the Pokémon Cyclone is defeated by seven to nine trainers.
Tornadus is a flying type with three weaknesses: electric, ice, and rock. The trainer can choose from a wide range of powerful Pokémon of these types, depending on their climate or strength.
Electric-type Pokémon become stronger when it rains. Rock-type Pokémon benefit from partly cloudy weather, while ice-type Pokémon benefit from snow.
Tornadus can be useful even with low defense, depending on your strategy. Tornadus does not fare well in PvP leagues for the same reason. He’ll fall quickly if he doesn’t put up much of a fight, or he’ll force the trainer to spend a shield.

Best Moveset
With the exception of Grass Knot, Tornadus’ moveset isn’t particularly concerning for your counters. Grass-type moves are particularly effective against Rock-type counters like Rhyperior and Tyranitar, so if you know the Tornadus you’re fighting has Grass Knot, stick to Ice and Electric-type counters.
How to Catch?
After you defeat Tornadus in a legendary raid, he will appear in the wild for you to catch!
Shiny Tornadus will be found in both Incarnate and Therian raids, with a chance of 1 in 20, or 5%. This doesn’t ensure you’ll get a shiny after 20 raids, but it does increase your chances. If you happen to come across a shiny Tornadus, the chance of catching it is 100%, so make sure you use a Pinap Berry to get the most candy!
