The Genshin Impact 2.0 update introduced a host of new content to the popular game. Along with the region of Inazuma, we get to meet a whole new cast of characters as well. One of whom is the next Archon, the Raiden Shogun named Baal.
Also known as the God of Eternity, Baal is the Archon that rules over Inazuma. And she’s voiced by none other than the legendary voice actress Miyuki Sawashiro. If you’ve watched any anime over the last year, you’d have undoubtedly heard her voice. That’s how popular she is.
Miyuki Sawashiro started her voice acting career in anime while she was still in middle school with Di Gi Charat. Since then, she’s spanned an impressive line-up of anime and video games, including some of the biggest and most popular titles in existence. Here are some of her appearances:
- Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Ciri
- JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven – Jolyne Cujoh
- Final Fantasy XV – Aranea Highwind
- Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition – Krystalinda
- Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn – Minfilia
Interestingly, Miyuki Sawashiro was also the voice actress behind Raiden Mei in Honkai Impact 3rd. A lot of fans expected Raiden Mei and Raiden Shogun to be similar ever since the first announcement, so it’s possible that miHoYo did this on purpose. In any case, both old and new players will be delighted to see her return to lend her voice to major characters.
Baal is the first 5-star character in Genshin Impact update 2.1. Her elemental skill, Transcendence: Bale Omen deals a major chunk of Electro Damage, in addition to granting allies Eye of Stormy Judgment. This also grants an elemental burst damage bonus, which in turn scales with energy cost.
