Genshin Impact 2.1 – The Unforged Guide – Stats, Passive, Release Date

Genshin Impact 2.1 is almost upon us, and with it we’ll get a new host of weapons, enemies and more. And according to some new leaks, the weapon banner is already out!

A Chinese leaker by the name of 戰斗大鍋 has revealed the weapon banner with two weapons: Engulfing Lightning and The Unforged.

While Engulfing Lightning is the Raiden Shogun’s unique weapon, players should already be familiar with The Unforged. For those who don’t, here’s a primer.

The Unforged is a claymore (i.e. a two-handed sword), that focuses mainly on ATK. Here is the claymore’s effect according to the in-game text:

“Increases Shield Strength by 20/25/30/35/40%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 4/5/6/7/8% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.”

The interesting thing is that The Unforged is a 5-star weapon, so it is only available in specific weapon banners. People who use characters like Noelle and Beidou will definitely find good use for it, since it boosts both defense and damage. However, since its effect has a niche use, many players would have liked to see a different weapon return in Genshin Impact 2.1. Here’s another leak from Twitter user Gensin Update.

Among 5-star claymores, The Unforged has the lowest base ATK.

BASE ATK – 608
ATK BONUS – 49.6%

Genshin Impact 2.1 – The Unforged – Passive Ability

The passive ability is where things get a little hairy. Here’s what you get:

Increases shield strength by 20%.
4% ATK boost on attacking enemies. This effect gets a 2x boost if you have a shield up.

While a lot of players would be disappointed since The Unforged doesn’t have that mainstream a use, it is perfect for those who use Xinyan or Noelle or Beidou as their main. Since these characters have shield abilities, they can make effective use of The Unforged’s abilities. If you want to ensure consistent shield buffs, you can add Diona or Zhongli to your team and really go to town with The Unforged.
