Our Score: 7/10
Youtuber’s Life 2 by UPLAY Online is the sequel to the hit game Youtuber’s Life 2. The original spawned tons of content from content creators around the globe. From comedic series’ to challenge runs and more, the original was quite the hit and kept growing as time went on.
Well, this sequel changes things up quite a bit. There’s a lot of changes here including multiple areas to explore, and the way things are handled. They’ve also included a lot of famous and popular YouTubers to make the game feel more authentic. And you can even collaborate with these folks to improve and grow your own content.
What is Youtuber’s Life 2
“Create your own channel and decide which is the best content to cover: trending video games, improvised streamings, professional reviews… Or all of them! Collect cards to make the best content and choose the most suitable reaction for each video and situation. Record, edit, and publish high-quality videos to get your first subscribers and views, and make money in no time.”
YouTuber’s Life 2 is all about starting your career as a content creator and then climbing up the ranks to become one of the greatest. Now that’s easier said than done in real life but Youtuber’s Life makes that possible. There’s a lot of stuff that carries over from the original but there’s quite a lot of changes. Your core loop still revolves around creating videos but now you’ll also be streaming, collaborating, and doing side quests.
And to do this you have a fairly decent hub world in Newtube City. This city has three main neighborhoods: Downtown, City Hall, and Port. These places will be where you might find trending topics that will help you create content.
Customization is also a big part of the sequel. You can customize pretty much everything given the change in visual style. To start off, you customize your character, your clothes, and your office/home. You can live out your fantasy of having the best gear and hardware with the best-looking setup.
Furthermore, you will be producing content for all your social media platforms so there’s a bit of variety there. However, the gameplay is quite rough around the edges with a lot of stuff from the original game missing. The original got a lot of updates and support so I’m hoping with time this can be ironed out.
Look and Feel
YouTuber’s Life 2 takes a lot of inspiration from the 3D Pokemon games. You’ll feel quite familiar with the visual style here. The characters are chibi-looking with a somewhat cartoony but still realistic world. Subsequently, thanks to this, there’s a lot that can be added, expanded, and improved.
Audio-wise, it’s all quite upbeat, poppy, and colorful sounding. It’s what you’d expect from a game like this. Nonetheless, what is there is good and does its job well enough to keep you engaged, involved, and immersed.
Youtuber’s Life 2 will be divisive among the fanbase because of how it changes things up. There’s a lot of good changes here but it’s marred by the exclusion of a lot of other things. Hopefully given time, this game can improve and rival the popularity and fun of the original.
