What is Giants Uprising
“Giants Uprising is a medieval fantasy action adventure game full of Giants and unlimited destruction! Take on the role of a powerful Giant who finally breaks free from enslavement to seek revenge on the ruthless human race. Every step of the way you’ll be accompanied by your faithful companion – Kielbasa, a human with whom fate crossed your paths. Smash, destroy, and massacre everything you encounter. Crush people with the strength of your mighty blows. Raze settlements, villages, and towns to the ground. Take revenge on the selfish human race for years of slavery!”
When an ancient race of ruling giants dwindles, their wisdom is all but forgotten, powerful kings of old are dead. And their once-proud cities lie in ruins, slowly consumed by time and elements.
Betrayed by humans, the Giant race fell one by one and those who survived became enslaved. Locked down, and thrown into pits for the human’s entertainment.
Until the fateful day when one lonely Giant, lusting for blood and revenge, got paired up with a convicted human. As they get thrown into the pit, Giants fellow human companion uses his smarts to break free from the pit and went on a rampage across the kingdom.
The gameplay itself can actually be challenging. You need to make sure you are keeping up with your health otherwise you’ll just be killed and have to load the recent checkpoint.
There are a few problems that I have encountered while playing so far. There is a good bit of lag in the game, but that is expected with a brand new game still in development. The game sometimes acts like it is going to crash. But if you are just patient you will be fine.
Look and Feel
The graphics really are on point, I hope they can get the lag under control. They put so much stuff on the screen which is why it probably lags. The humans fly a lot, too, which I hope will continue to the final product in a cleaner fashion. The ragdoll and physics here are great and I just hope that performance can be further optimized and improvized upon.
Final Verdict
Giants Uprising takes an interesting formula and gives you a neat little playground to play with that idea of being a hulking beast. However, the game is in Early Access and a lot of things are constantly being added and fine-tuned in the game. While the game isn’t incredible or a must-play at the moment, I can certainly see it getting there.
Especially with how vocal and involved the developers are with the community and their feedback. I hope they stick with the game because there is a lot that can be done here. It’s already quite fun but with more polish and some more depth and fleshing out, it can be a really fun title.
