Genshin Impact Cross Platform – Can PC and PS4/PS5 Play Together, Carry Over Progress
Genshin Impact is cross-platform compatible – which means that you can play the game with your friends who are using different platforms. For example, you with a PS5 and your friend with a PC can play Genshin Impact together.
Genshin Impact: How to play with friends on PC, PS5 & PS4
Genshin Impact crossplay allows you to play with friends, cross-platform, in co-op mode by sharing UID code. Console players (PS4/PS5) can easily play with their friends on PC once they are added to the friends list.
How To Play Genshin Impact Cross Platform?
It is mandatory that you reach Adventure Rank 16 before playing cross-platform because it is the prerequisite for online multiplayer co-op. Also, you and your friends need to be playing on the same regional server for Genshin Impact crossplay to work.
To use crossplay,
- Add each other to your Genshin Impact friends lists by sharing your UID code (found in the bottom-right corner of your screen).
- Open the Friends menu, navigate to Add Friend
- Type in your friend’s UID code.
- With them now on your friends list, you can invite them into your adventure team and begin exploring Teyvat together.
Genshin Impact Cross Platform Progression
Cross-progression means your game progress remains irrespective of the platform you play on. If you have played Genshin Impact on your PS4/PS5 and then switched to PC, your game data will still be there. You just have to log in with your Hoyoverse account either on PC or console to continue playing where you left off.

Cross-play for Nintendo Switch and Xbox
There has been no announcement for Switch and Xbox yet. Currently, it’s only available for Android, iOS, PS4, PS5, and PC.
