Genshin Impact is an action role-playing game developed and published by miHoYo. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, iOS, and Android in 2020, and on PlayStation 5 in 2021. The game is also set for release on Nintendo Switch.

Even though many events have passed and there are some items you can’t get, new content comes out regularly and consistently with improvement. You can catch up very easily while being entirely new to the game.
What’s New?
Genshin Impact Version 2.8 was released on July 13, 2022. The patch update includes Heizou’s release, banner reruns for Kazuha, Klee, and Yoimiya, Fischl and Diluc skins, new Story and Hangout quests, and a huge summer event – ‘Summer Fantasia’.
The 3.0 update will introduce a whole new territory, Sumeru, to the players and the game’s first playable Dendro characters. The release of the new characters – Dori, Collei, and Tighnari has sparked discussions and rumors in the Genshin Impact community, especially with the leaker @genshinBLANK letting off info on v3.0 characters and events. Although the release date for 3.0 isn’t confirmed yet, we can expect patch 3.0 to arrive around 24 August 2022 after the current version 2.8 which lasts for 6 weeks.

Quest/Storytelling
If you enjoy a good story, this game is for you. New Archon Quests or main chapters are released frequently with a number of Story Quests for each character. The main story is voiced by each character and there are a few options for different languages. The cut scenes will have your chosen Traveller appear in each scene.
Exploring the Open World
The game offers a number of options to get around – exploring by glider, fast travel, climbing and also using the Wave Rider. You can have your own personal boat to reach places that aren’t easily reached. You’re free to explore Teyvat in a number of different ways, not just by walking!
Party Combinations
The gameplay in Genshin Impact uses a party system where you will have four characters in a group. You have to switch between them to create elemental reactions to create further damage. Enemies in the world also have their own elements, meaning using another element can weaken them or make them more susceptible.
Free to Play
Genshin Impact uses a free-to-play model with microtransactions. The game does rely on using Primogems to Wish or summon new characters or upgrades but there is a lot of in-game content that provides ways to earn Primogems such as through Quests, events, and more. There are also ways to gain free characters through the main story, as well as using other forms of currency in Paimon’s Bargains.
