Lore

According to in-game dialogues, Baizhu is a skilled doctor and the boss of the Bubu Pharmacy located in the northern part of Liyue. Other characters describe Dr. Baizhu as someone who uses traditional herbal medicine to cure ailments. He is recognizable by his unique green hair as well as a snake named Changsheng which is wrapped around his neck.

He’s intelligent and kind, as shown by his treatment of Qiqi and a patient name Hongdou, a young girl who hates the taste of his medicine, but visits due to his gentle nature. However, he’s persistent and relentless in his pursuit of eternal life, likely due to his own poor health caused by an ongoing, incurable ailment.

He wields a Dendro vision as an NPC. It also fits in with his story as a pharmacist with an uncanny knowledge of herbal medicine, given that Dendro is meant to be a plant-based element.

Release Date

Baizhu doesn’t have a set release date in Genshin Impact yet, but here’s some idea. According to a leak, Baizhu will not arrive before Genshin Impact 3.6 which, going by HoYoverse’s usual update schedule, should arrive around April 2023.

Possible Weapon

In their analysis of upcoming characters, Reddit user u/PM_ME_YOUR_ROBOTGIRL suggested that Baizhu’s release is classed as ‘likely’, as he utilizes a playable character model with his weapon listed as a catalyst. This is supported by u/astrrea’s speculation that Baizhu will be a five-star catalyst user, due to his poor health preventing him from more physical weapons.
