Mika Schmidt: Little Boy in Genshin Impact

Mika Schmidt is an event-exclusive NPC that appeared in Of Ballads and Brews. Here’s everything we know so far about Mika, the latest playable character to hail from Mondstadt.

WHO IS MIKA?

According to leaks from respected leaker UBatcha, Genshin Impact’s Mika is an upcoming cryo polearm unit, though we’re unsure of whether he’s going to be a four-star or a five-star.

We got our first official peak at him through the Genshin Impact 3.1 livestream, suggesting that we’ll get to meet him during the new update. He introduces himself as a surveyor of the Reconnaissance Company, then goes on to read out Grand Master Varka’s letter, occasionally stumbling over his words and shifting nervously.

MIKA’S PERSONALITY

Seemingly shy and distant at first, Mika eventually warms up to the people he knows. To those unfamiliar to him, especially those with high rankings, Mika prefers to observe them and understand their personalities before properly interacting with them as a sign of respect. He does seem to rely on other people for decisions, such as when to talk or what to say.

WHEN WILL MIKA COME TO GENSHIN IMPACT?

As mentioned above, the Genshin Impact livestream suggested that we’ll be seeing Mika for the first time in-game during 3.1, which is due to come out on September 28.

WHAT ARE MIKA’S ABILITIES?

As per Genshin leaker Ubatcha, Mika is a Cryo polearm user. You can see what looks like a cyan blue Cryo vision embedded in his glove in the “Of Ballads and Brews” trailer. We don’t even know if he’s a 4- or 5-star yet, though many leakers are guessing he’s a 4-star.

It’s still early after Mika’s introduction, so leakers haven’t gathered data on his abilities yet.
